Chinook Bio-Ag Products Inc. & Friesen Livestock Ltd. are pleased to Welcome Tim Linden.
Tim was born and raised in Lethbridge, AB.  He graduated from Lethbridge Collegiate Institute, and continued to participate in specialized job related training throughout the years.  He has been married for 20 years, and  and has raised two beautiful daughters.
He has had an extremely successful career in sales for almost 13 years.  Appreciates his customers and pride himself in ensuring they are happy and that all of their needs are met.  As a result of his remarkable customer service skills, he was top salesman for most of his career.  He intends to continue to utilize these abilities in his new position as Chemical and Nutrition Sales Representative with Chinook Bio-Ag and Friesen Livestock Ltd. He firmly believes that the Atomes products they have to offer are the best, safest and environmentally friendly that are available in today’s market.  •

Genesus Adds a Valued Member
Genesus is pleased to announce the appointment of Abilio Pereira as General Manager Nucleus Farms, based in Manitoba.
Abilio joins Genesus after several years with PIC  holding various positions from;
Abilio has been responsible for updating and monitoring of genetic breeding farms including multiplies, which includes supervising a staff of veterinarian and support staff (health, genealogical records, production sheets, budgets, product availability, controls, logistics etc) and consulting in swine production genetic customers.
Abilio is a graduate fo Escola Superior de Agricultura de Lavras – Brazil and Business Adminstration at Belmont University – Tennessee. He is multilingual speaking Portuguese, English and functional Spanish and French.  •

Dr. Phillip Thacker Receives 2014 Sask Pork Award of Distinction:  Lifetime Achievement for Advances in Swine Nutrition
As Professor of swine nutrition and management at the University of Saskatchewan for the past 30 years, Dr. Thacker’s contributions to the swine industry in teaching, research and technology transfer are highly deserving of this award.
He contributed substantially towards teaching and training of undergraduate students and to the scientific field in the area of swine nutrition, reproduction, and general management.  He has worked extensively to transfer information and technology for swine production.
For his efforts in China, Dr. Thacker was awarded the Xinghai International Friendship Award and the Friendship Award. These international awards recognize the social and scientific contributions made by foreign experts.
Sask Pork recognizes the importance of Dr. Thacker’s work in the area of animal science in Canada and internationally throughout his career.  He was nominated for this award by his colleague Dr. Andrew Van Kessel, Professor and Head, University of Saskatchewan, Department of Animal and Poultry Science.  •

Dr. Kurt Preugschas
Joins IVS Red Deer
Innovative Veterinary Services (IVS) is pleased to announce the addition of Dr. Kurt Preugschas as a swine veterinarian based out of the IVS Red Deer office. Kurt was most recently working with Prairie Swine Health Services (PSHS) in Red Deer as an associate veterinarian.
Kurt developed his passion for swine production and swine medicine growing up on a family hog farm Northwest of Edmonton. After graduating from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in 2010, swine medicine has been Kurt’s primary focus.
Kurt enjoys working together with hog producers on farm to maximize health, welfare, biosecurity and overall herd performance.
Dr. Preugschas is now accepting new clients at IVS Red Deer.
